WAYNE -- Police briefly closed Manor Drive at Hamburg Turnpike and evacuated nearby homes after a woman found a live World War II- era hand grenade Friday afternoon while she was cleaning out her house, authorities said.
The woman, whom police did not identify, found the grenade in a box while she was preparing the house for a renovation, Capt. Paul Ireland said. She picked up the device and put it on the front lawn about 1:15 p.m., he said.See the full content of this document
