KUDOS to acting Governor Codey for promising to raise New Jersey's minimum wage. It's currently $5.15, the same as the national rate.

A bill sponsored by Mr. Codey in the state Senate would raise the wage to $5.40 this year and $5.90 next year. That's a step in the right direction, but it's not enough. The minimum wage in this state should be about $7.
