WAYNE -- The Planning Board said no to a first-ever proposal for a 50-foot wind turbine, at the Wayne Auto Spa, after the business owner denied a request for more time to hear the facts.

Robert Burke, owner of the Hamburg Turnpike quick lube and carwash, claimed that politics was the reason officials sought a delay. He said that they were trying to "run the clock" until a new ordinance goes into effect next Tuesday that would create zoning restrictions against the project.
