With blue-chip stocks at all-time highs, it's a pretty safe bet that many Wall Street brokers will be rolling in dough when they get their year-end bonuses.

New York City's economy is "going gangbusters," said Rae Rosen, Federal Reserve Bank of New York economist, during a panel discussion Thursday on the region's economy. And what's good for New York is usually good for New Jersey, she added. "The two economies are intertwined," she said, noting that 10 percent of New Jersey's workforce works in New York City, primarily in the financial sector.
