How they got here: After a bye in the first round, Fair Lawn struggled to defeat No. 17 seed Passaic Valley, 23-25, 25-22, 25- 12. The Cutters were never threatened in a 25-13, 25-11 victory over No. 8 seed Bloomfield in the sectional quarterfinals. Clifton also had a bye in the first round and then defeated No. 12 Memorial in the second round, 25-18, 25-12. The Mustangs avenged a loss in the Passaic County tournament by eliminating Wayne Valley, 24-26, 25- 12, 25-19 in the sectional quarterfinals.
