Summary
The remains of an Air Force pilot from Hunterdon County have been identified in Laos and will be buried Friday at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors, Pentagon officials said Tuesday.
Capt. Stephen A. Rusch of Lambertville was the weapons systems officer in an F-4E Phantom II that was shot down over Salavan Province, Laos, on March 7, 1972. The pilot of another plane that was on the mission reported hearing ground fire followed by an explosion. Attempts to establish radio contact with Rusch failed and a search turned up no trace of the downed plane, according to an account released by the Department of Defense on Tuesday.See the full content of this document
