FAIR LAWN -- Three garbage truck workers went to the hospital after inhaling acid someone had put in the trash Friday morning, officials said.
Someone had thrown out powder muriatic acid, which is also known as hydrochloric acid, and it reacted with snow in the back of the garbage truck, creating a vapor that the Cali Carting workers inhaled, said Fair Lawn Rescue Chief Eric Van Kruiningen.See the full content of this document
