HARRISON - Lauren Cheney remembers being in Chicago to watch the 1999 Women's World Cup. She was only 11, but the Indianapolis native already knew she wanted to play for the United States National Team.

Now 23, Cheney is seen as one of the next wave of bright young players for the United States. She's one of a handful who are expected to serve as reserves at the Women's World Cup later this month. She showed Sunday that a player doesn't need 90 minutes to have a big impact on a game.
