RIVERDALE - A fiery smashup between a tractor-trailer and two dump trucks left northbound traffic crawling for hours Thursday on Route 287 and launched a police search for one driver who fled the scene.
All three drivers walked away from the 8:08 a.m. collision near the off-ramp for Route 23 south. The operator of the tractor- trailer, John Coon III, sustained a fractured leg but was able to get out of his cab with help from two passing motorists - just as his punctured diesel tanks burst into flames, police said.See the full content of this document
