NEW YORK For 11 years, Carlos Delgado could barely stand to look at baseball in October. Failing to make the postseason himself, the burly first baseman surely didn't want to watch any of his competitors extending their seasons and winning championships.

"I did not watch much, just because I hated not being there," Delgado said. "And the moment you start watching, you start thinking, you just get competitive and say, well, he's going to throw this now and he should do this or he should do that. So I didn't watch much."
