I enjoyed your recent column on tipping, but you neglected to cover a question that I have had for years. ... I've heard some people say that you are not supposed to tip on the bar tab. Sometimes the cost of a nice bottle or two of wine can exceed the cost of the food. This can add substantially to the tip. What is the currently accepted rule for this?
