Summary
What's new: A Hackensack police sergeant appeared in Bergen County Municipal Court on Thursday to face charges that he threatened to kill a fellow police officer. Anthony Trezza, who has been on the force for 24 years, was represented by Paul Giblin, who asked the judge to dismiss the charges because he had not received any discovery documents from the municipal prosecutor. Giblin is seeking copies of police reports, as well as personnel files and internal affairs reports relating to police officers who will be witnesses for the state. "Maybe there is something significant in my client's defense," Giblin said.
Andrew Samson, the municipal prosecutor, said he had not received discovery documents, which he had requested from the Hackensack Police Department. He said the only reports he had were those given to him by Anthony Ferraioli, the police officer who filed the complaint against Trezza. Samson also has a 25-minute recording of a conversation where Trezza is alleged to have made the threat, according to testimony.See the full content of this document
