Summary


* Sweet autumn clematis is certainly one of the best things about late summer. This robust vine produces myriad tiny, fragrant blooms in a creamy white color. It attaches easily to arbors or trellises on its own and quickly becomes a specimen plant, providing years of satisfaction.

* The cooler and moister conditions in late summer and early fall are ideal for turf grass establishment. Generally the new lawn will enjoy adequate growth before the winter weather sets in. Also, many weed seeds like crabgrass are no longer germinating and other broad- leaved weeds are shutting down, so there is less competition for new grass seedlings.
