Summary


Shoppers continue to pay more for food basics, with the price of orange juice, eggs, coffee, beef and milk all higher than a year ago, according to The Record's Marketbasket Survey. Energy prices dipped a bit in the past month, but gasoline and home heating oil are still a third higher than a year ago. The Record survey tracks changes in the prices of some household goods and services. It is based on mid-month prices in North Jersey. Change is for the past 12 months -- since August 2010.
