NOW THAT Marianne Gallagher has submitted her resignation as director of Bergen County's animal shelter, the McNerney administration has the unenviable job of finding a replacement. We would suggest that the administration try to attract someone with administrative skills and qualifications in handling people, even if it means not hiring another veterinarian.
One can only have sympathy for Ms. Gallagher. She suffered a personal tragedy last weekend when a fire extensively damaged the home she rented in Pennsylvania and killed 48 of the 49 animals inside.
