RIDGEFIELD -- The school board on Thursday night approved a resolution to eliminate 86 full-time classroom aide positions in an effort to save the district more than $1 million.

The resolution, which the board approved 4-3, also called for the creation of an additional 172 part-time teaching-assistant jobs.
