Winning always beats the alternatives. So there was a generally upbeat atmosphere in the Giants' locker room following Friday night's come-from-behind 17-16 exhibition win over the Ravens in Baltimore.

The second-half heroics of punt returner Michael Jennings, quarterback Jared Lorenzen and defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka and some of the other defensive backups were the source of the good feeling. But middle linebacker Antonio Pierce knows those aren't the guys who figure to be the difference-makers once the season starts.
