Q. The concrete stoop at the front of my house is badly chipped. I'd like to resurface it with a new 1/4-inch layer of concrete. How can I make sure the new concrete bonds well to the old surface?
If you want to add only 1/4 inch to the surface, you won't be able to use regular concrete mix. A new surface of concrete should be at least 2 inches thick. To improve the bond, you can buy a concrete bonder - a liquid that is brushed on the surface immediately before the new concrete is applied.See the full content of this document
