Summary
Mary Longest was supposed to be one of four students of Irene Panagakos Lafharis performing a benefit concert this fall. Unfortunately, the three other pianists didn't think they could be ready in time for an October show, which left Longest alone. She still wanted to do it, though, and Panagakos Lafharis convinced the Demarest resident that she could carry the night on her own.
So Longest, 17 and a senior at Northern Valley Regional High School, set out to narrow down a list of worthy causes. She decided on a breast cancer charity because of all the people in the area touched by the disease, eventually settling on the Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.See the full content of this document
