Former Paramus Police Chief Fred Corrubia on Tuesday denied allegations that he attempted to pressure an officer to retire so he could promote a less experienced officer with better political connections.
Testifying in a lawsuit brought by former Lt. Ronald O'Neill, Corrubia said in state Superior Court he had never told the lieutenant to step aside, contrary to sworn accounts from O'Neill and a former secretary.
