FORT LEE - A Camden County man who is suing Fair Lawn for alleged police brutality said Wednesday that an officer whispered a racial slur in his ear as the officer arrested him on warrants for outstanding traffic tickets.

"As he put the cuffs on me, he whispered [the racial insult]," Truluck Legette said. "He called me dirt. He was just looking for something he could charge me with."
