GLEN ROCK -- Difficult economic times have prompted Mayor John van Keuren to ask the public to support local businesses.

"We're trying to keep people in town to do their buying ... to support the local deli, hardware store, restaurant, shoe store or meat market," van Keuren said. "Four stores are empty since November ... and with all the publicity of a weak economy, I just think we have to do something [as a Borough Council] to keep people shopping locally."
