PATERSON - In the first of a series of town hall meetings, Mayor Joey Torres promised 1st Ward residents a raft of new programs in the city in the coming months.

At School 28 on Wednesday night, Torres led a panel discussion comprising the heads of nearly all of the city's departments. As each official spoke, including those from the Department of Public Works, the Police Department and Human Services, the mayor trumpeted the achievements of his administration and previewed new initiatives to come.
