BLOOMINGDALE Republicans took control of the governing body Tuesday, grabbing the mayor's seat and two council positions.

Voters elected Councilwoman Sue Smith as the borough's new mayor, and newcomers Jennifer Altfield and Karen Labazzetta to three-year council terms.
