District's Search for Teachers Finds an Abundance of Choice

PATERSON More than 1,000 prospective teachers descended upon John F. Kennedy High School's gym for Paterson Public Schools' annual job fair this weekend.

Administrators in Paterson, the state's third-largest district with 27,000 students, interviewed candidates for about 130 openings Saturday. Each candidate had about 15 minutes to make the case for a job. Interviewers noted on score cards the performance of job seekers and whether to invite them back for a second interview.
