When Cantor Fitzgerald's Manhattan office was destroyed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the company lost about 700 employees, including Jersey City wine school owner Matthew Picerno and 12 of his winemaking customers.

The tragedy opened the door for wine connoisseurs John Gizzi and Diann Greco to buy the wine school in 2002, changing the name to Make Wine With Us. Seven years later, they've moved it to Wallington to merge with a similar company run by Gizzi's son, John Jr., in Woodland Park since 2004.
