WEST MILFORD - A sanitation worker pulled a boater to safety from the chilly waters of Upper Greenwood Lake after she slipped while leaving an island dock Monday morning, authorities said.

Joseph Pearn was collecting trash on Stanton Court with co- worker Richard Peterson when they heard cries for help about 8:20 a.m. Looking toward the water, they spotted Martina O'Donoghue clinging to the side of a small pontoon boat, authorities said.
