PATERSON -- The boys basketball team's bus left Passaic High School without Najee Salaam late Tuesday afternoon.

But when the Indians arrived at Paterson Catholic to play in the championship game of the second annual Jingle Bells Jubilee, coach Ken Slappy allowed his team to vote whether the tardy Salaam should play after he was benched for the first quarter. Every Passaic player voted in favor of Salaam joining them on the floor for their rematch against Kennedy.
