Governor Corzine on Saturday signed legislation requiring that any flag of the United States or the state of New Jersey bought with state funds be manufactured in the United States.

"Our flag is a symbol of our nation's strength and unity," said Corzine, who signed the legislation at an event in Willingboro. "It has marched on Revolutionary War battlefields, flown atop Mount Suribachi and has been hoisted on the moon. It is only appropriate, then, that this most revered emblem of our nation that represents the courage and sacrifice of our fellow citizens be produced by American businesses."
