If there's one person who can assess the Yankees' failure against the Red Sox, it's the man who owns the October patent - Reggie Jackson. Two days after the Bombers collapsed in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series, Reggie says he's still "in a daze" but nevertheless made a point of praising four key players, and conspicuously declined comment on two others.

Those whom Jackson embraced were Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera. He made no mention of Alex Rodriguez and Gary Sheffield, nor did he invoke Kevin Brown's or Javier Vazquez's name. His silence about the newcomers spoke volumes.
