GOVERNOR CHRISTIE announced Tuesday that the state has approved 23 new charter schools. The announcement was made at the default charter school of choice in the Garden State: the Robert Treat Academy in Newark.
By all accounts the Robert Treat Academy does very well by its students. But a single well-performing charter school -- the creation of political power broker Stephen Adubato -- does not make for wholesale school reform.
