Summary

As high school football goes, Wayne Hills' recently snapped 55- game win streak was impressive -- but not record-setting.

The state gridiron record for consecutive wins belongs to Paulsboro High School: 63 in a streak that ended in 1998. And the national record is 151, held by De La Salle High School in California. For a U.S. record held by a New Jersey school, one must turn to high school basketball: The 159 consecutive wins by the Passaic High School Hilltoppers "Wonder Team" from 1919 to 1925 is enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
