Security Probed After Parolee Flees, Allegedly Kills Woman

The state agency that monitors recently released prisoners is examining whether to change security procedures after a man fled a hospital while under the agency's supervision and allegedly killed his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend in Bergen County, a spokesman for the State Parole Board said Wednesday.

"We are conducting a review of this incident, and the chairman of the Parole Board will determine if it's necessary to modify existing procedures," agency spokesman Neal Buccino said.
