Pro-Business Legislation Likely to Be Revived

Summary


A set of pro-business bills that drew the ire of environmentalists and were vetoed this week by former Gov. Jon S. Corzine will likely be reintroduced in hopes that Governor Christie will sign them, business leaders and a key legislative aide said.

One is a bill that would make it easier for builders to construct housing in undeveloped areas by extending sewer lines. The other would limit notification of a toxic cleanup to residents and businesses near a contaminated site. Both were sponsored by Paul Sarlo, D-Wood-Ridge, an executive at one of the region's largest construction firms, Joseph M. Sanzari Inc.
