Andrew Lee Fielding, born in 1956, grew up watching the '60s shows that enthralled many other boomers his age -- "Get Smart," "Batman," "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." But he's always been fascinated by a television era that preceded his birth -- TV's earliest days (1949 to 1952), the subject of his recent book, "The Lucky Strike Papers."

The reason for Fielding's fixation can be found in the book's subtitle: "Journeys Through My Mother's Television Past." Sue Bennett, his late mom, was a singer on early shows like "Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge" and Lucky Strike-sponsored "Your Hit Parade."
