Summary


A big south to southwest blow with winds predicted to reach 60 mph set the stage to put a damper on the start of the weekend fishery once again. The front came through Friday night followed by winds that turned sharply to the west, but the damage was done as a dirty ocean was all that was left Saturday morning.

Few boats were out Saturday as west winds were predicted to gust to 45 mph but it never materialized as the wind settled at 25 mph. On Sunday, winds subsided and the improvement in the long-awaited striped bass fishery finally began.
