PARK RIDGE -- Tom Lehmann's legacy at Woodland Gardens stretched nearly 30 years until he succumbed to Lou Gehrig's disease in June.

After Thursday, the three dozen residents who live in the groundbreaking home for the disabled will know it by a different name: Lehmann Gardens, named after Tom, one of its founders and, by all accounts, its driving force.
