A Paterson chemical company and a Woodstown trucking firm were fined more than $6,000 after an investigation found them at fault for a leak that shot an acid cloud into the air, shut down Route 80 near Williamsport, Pa., and forced the evacuation of more than 1,000 residents.
American Metals Recovery Corp., of Paterson, loaded acid and alkaline chemicals onto the truck, but neither chemical was properly reported in the manifest of the trucking company, SJ Transportation Co., Inc. of Woodstown, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection said Thursday.See the full content of this document
