GREENBURGH, N.Y. It appears more and more evident that Jed Ortmeyer's days of crashing into the corners as a New York Ranger are numbered. Ortmeyer becomes an unrestricted free agent Sunday and his agent, Mark Witkin, said there has been no contact between the two parties.

"I guess we would say we are still waiting to hear from the Rangers, and nothing is going on now and so I can't comment other than that," Witkin said. "There's nothing really to report."
