1890s Oradell Home Holds a Few Surprises

"We wanted a house with a lot of character," says Brittany Hemmel, who began house-hunting with her finace, Grant Adams, over a year ago. "This house was built in the 1890s. It still has its original parquet floors with inlays, fancy moldings and things like that."

While the Oradell house was in good shape, the pair discovered there are challenges to buying an older house. They handled and learned from each crisis and wound up with a graceful home they adore.
