Jon Niese underwent a battery of exams at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit to try to determine the cause of his rapid heartbeat. While he's waiting on the result of one more test, so far everything has come back normal.
Niese suffered the elevated heart rate Saturday in Texas. While the Mets initially blamed the heat in Arlington as a possible cause, Niese said he's had the symptoms at other times this year. He underwent an EKG, an echocardiogram and a treadmill stress test. He then was fitted with a Holter monitor, which will record his heart rate for 24 hours before a decision is made on his next turn in the rotation.See the full content of this document
