Barack Obama cruised past John McCain in the Garden State on Tuesday as voters also gave 84-year-old Frank Lautenberg an unprecedented fifth term in the U.S. Senate.

But the Democratic mantra of change only went so far. Republican Rep. Scott Garrett of Wantage won a fourth term in North Jersey after a well-funded and aggressive challenge from Demarest rabbi and psychologist Dennis Shulman.
