TRENTON - As the Legislature considers proposals to create the office of lieutenant governor, experts said lawmakers should consider the experiences of other states where the post has raised a variety of issues.

Robert F. Williams, a state constitutional law expert and professor at Rutgers School of Law in Camden, and Ingrid Reed, director of the Eagleton New Jersey Project at Rutgers, presented views on New Jersey's gubernatorial succession at a public policy seminar at the State House on Wednesday.
