EMERSON Muriel Wassmann once said she was having such a good time as Emerson's longtime borough historian, she never wanted to stop. And she didn't.

Although she struggled for 50 years with rheumatoid arthritis a disease that made her body so stiff she could barely walk or dress herself she kept Emerson's past from fading away.
