The state's medical university overbilled the government by as much as $75 million, in the latest financial scandal discovered by auditors at the Newark hospital and clinics, a university source said.

Forensic auditors discovered the irregularities in the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's billing records and reported them to the board of trustees' finance committee Tuesday, the source said.
