EAST RUTHERFORD - All around the victorious locker room Sunday night in Cowboys Stadium, smiling Giants waded over wads of tape and oversized gear bags, pulling up the zippers on their brand new team- issued sweat suits. A long, happy flight to New Jersey beckoned, and players headed to the exits in the relative comfort of their new duds.

And then there was Eli Manning, heading to the postgame interview podium, the knot of his dark tie perfectly nestled in the collar of his crisp, white shirt, the tip of a folded white handkerchief peeking out of his designer suit's breast pocket. The Giants' quarterback isn't lying when he insists he doesn't concern himself with other people's image of him, but don't be fooled completely -- Manning is acutely aware people are watching. He understands he sets a tone. The most important place to do that for his football team is in the huddle, but sometimes he speaks just as loudly in a well- appointed postgame outfit.
