Maintenance Mishap Spurs Store Evacuations

PARAMUS -- Shoppers on Tuesday afternoon were evacuated from three stores on Route 4 west after an employee at the Daffy's store was burned while working on an electrical box.

Police were called to Daffy's around 4:15 p.m. by an employee who said a maintenance worker had burned his left hand, right arm and neck while working on an upstairs electrical box, said Chief Richard Cary of the Paramus police.
