MAHWAH -- Two teams and two individuals from Mahwah High School will travel to Michigan this week for the Future Problem Solvers international competition.

Team READ, composed of juniors and seniors, will participate in the community division and showcase their efforts to promote literacy within Mahwah. The 19 team members have held reading events for first-graders, served as reading buddies to children with autism, worked with English as a Second Language students and brought in authors to encourage reading among teens. The students have incorporated Native American legends, which they wrote down and illustrated with the help of the local representatives.
