Lodi Council Orders $2m in School Cuts

Summary


LODI The mayor and two allies on the Borough Council have ordered the Board of Education to trim $2 million from the school budget.

The council met Friday night to reduce the $47.2 million spending plan for 2007-08, which voters rejected by more than a 2-to-1 ratio in April's school elections. The budget cuts were ordered ahead of today's municipal elections, in which 16 candidates are seeking five seats on the council.
