SADDLE BROOK - The idea, like all great inventions, is powerfully simple. Four Saddle Brook Middle School students, having observed the problem of people who need to get up in the middle of the night, have created a mat that can be placed at the side of the bed and wired to a night-table lamp.
When you get up - for a drink, to use the bathroom, to take medicine - just roll out of bed, step on the mat, and presto, the light comes on. Cross the mat again and the light goes out. No fumbling, no reaching, and - the students hope - fewer dangerous falls.See the full content of this document
